Breast surgery in Mougins

IMPORTANTE NOTE :

A radiological breast assessment will be carried out systematically before any breast surgery

3D SIMULATION

The simulation in the office will be accompanied by the experienced advice of Dr. Ihrai who will explain to you, thanks to the images, the progress and the characteristics of the operation of breast augmentation.

BREAST REDUCTION

A breast reduction can reduce the breast size and correct ptosis (sagging of the breast). This procedure removes the excess mammary gland, replaces the areola and gives the breast its smooth curve back.

The technique used and the location of scars depend on the morphology of the breast treated and the result desired by the patient.

Breast reduction improves daily comfort and can have a beneficial effect on back pain.

Note that this procedure causes a definite decrease in the areolas’ sensitivity and may hinder breastfeeding during pregnancy in the years following the intervention.

Practical information :

  • General anaesthesia
  • Duration of the procedure :2 hrs 30 mins – 3 hrs 30 mins
  • Hospitalisation : Outpatient or 1 to 2 days in hospital as appropriate
  • Location of scars : See photo opposite
  • Recovery time : 7-15 days.
A supportive bra must be worn for 1 month

TREATMENT OF BREAST PTOSIS (sagging of the breast) : mastopexy

FALL AND BREAKING BREAST

Breast ptosis is the sagging of the breast which occurs over time and can be favoured by successive pregnancies or significant weight loss.

The surgical procedure is a “breast lift” and “returns” the smooth curve to the breasts. In case of insufficient volume, this procedure can be combined with breast implants.

Practical information :

  • General anaesthesia
  • Duration of the procedure : 2 hrs 30 mins – 3 hrs
  • Hospitalisation : Outpatient or 1 to 2 days in hospital
  • Location of scars : Anchor /Round Block(See photo opposite)
  • Recovery time : 7-10 days Without prosthesis : A compression bra must be worn for 1 monthWith prosthesis :

A compression bra must be worn for 4-6 weeks

BREAST AUGMENTATION : BREAST IMPLANTS

Breast size can be increased either by using a prosthesis or through fat injections (see lipomodelling). Breast augmentation can improve the cosmetic appearance of the breast and chest.

Breast implants can be inserted through an areal, submammary or axillary scar (see diagram). Depending on the morphology and size of your breast, prostheses can be placed in front of or behind the pectoral muscle.

The majority of breast implants used are made of silicone. The type and size of the prosthesis to be used are discussed with the patient during the preoperative consultation.

Practical information :

  • General anaesthesia
  • Duration of the procedure : 90 mins – 2 hrs 30 mins
  • Hospitalisation : Outpatient or 1 night
  • Location of scars : See photo opposite
  • Recovery time : 7 daysA medical bra must be worn for 4-6 weeks

BREAST AUGMENTATION : LIPOMMODELLING OR FAT INJECTIONS

In some cases, it is possible to increase the volume of the breasts without the need for prostheses using fat injections.

The fat is removed during surgery using liposuction in a defined area after discussions between the patient and surgeon. The fat is then treated according to a specific technique and then fed back into the two breasts in order to increase the breast volume.

The main advantage of this technique is the absence of visible scars on the breasts.

Practical information :

  • General anaesthesia
  • Duration of the procedure : 2-4 hrs
  • Hospitalisation : Outpatient
  • Location of scars : See photo opposite
  • Recovery time : 2-4 days

INVERTED NIPPLES

In some patients, the ducts behind the nipple are too short causing a retraction of the nipple.

This small defect can be treated surgically to allow the nipple to regain its original projection and relief.

Practical information :

  • Local anaesthesia
  • Duration of the procedure : 45 mins
  • Hospitalisation : Outpatient
  • Recovery time : 2-4 days

GYNECOMASTIA

Gynecomastia is an increase in the volume of the mammary gland in men.

Firstly, the discovery of gynecomastia should lead to the performance of tests to find and treat a possible cause for this anomaly.

Surgical treatment of gynecomastia combines liposuction and surgical removal of the excess skin and gland (the tissue removed is systematically analysed).

The locating of the scars depends on the extent of the gynecomastia. For minor gynecomastia, the scar can be hidden around the areola.

Practical information :

  • General anaesthesia
  • Duration of the procedure : 2 hrs30mins
  • Hospitalisation : Outpatient or 1 to 2 days in hospital
  • Location of scars : See photo opposite
  • Recovery time : 7-15 days
